How to Join the Global Peace Flag

Action Thresholds for Participation in the Global Peace Flag

Schools (Primary & Secondary) 

  • Peace Canvases: students write or paint commitments to peace, equality, and sustainability on fabric.

  • Curriculum Link: dedicate one lesson or project per year to peace education, tied to the SDGs.

  • International Day of Peace: organize a school-wide event where students exchange pledges of kindness and unity. 

Universities & Higher Education 

  • Peace Research/Innovation: develop one project per year linking peace and sustainability (e.g., fashion, tech, social sciences).

  • Student-Led Contributions: campuses contribute canvases annually, reflecting local/global issues.

  • International Day of Peace Awareness Campaigns: host at least one event or lecture annually on peace and justice.

  • International Solidarity: exchange canvases or co-host workshops across borders.

Corporations & Organizations 

  • Sustainable Practices: set annual measurable targets (e.g., cut textile waste by 10%, adopt circular practices).

  • Peace Flag Contribution: employees co-create canvases (fabric or digital) with peace commitments.

  • Funding & Advocacy: Help donate resources to support peace projects in schools, prisons, or conflict zones.

  • Workplace Culture: implement one annual initiative promoting inclusion and conflict resolution.

Individuals 

  • Peace Pledge: write a personal commitment on fabric (or digitally) to be stitched into the Global Peace Flag.

  • Daily Actions: adopt 1–2 lifestyle practices that align with peace (e.g., reduce fast fashion, practice non-violence in speech).

  • Advocacy: share the Peace Flag on social media or host a micro-event in your community.

  • Volunteerism: contribute your time or skills to peace initiatives.

How to Participate & Share Your Contribution

 

 

Once you’ve completed your Peace Flag activity — whether it’s a canvas, a project, or an event — we invite you to link your work back to the Global Peace Flag.

📩 Send Your Contributions

  • Email: [contact@globalpeaceflag.com

  • Subject line: “Peace Flag Contribution – [Your School/University/Organization/Name]”

  • Include: photos of canvases, short video clips (under 1 minute), or a written summary of your activity.

 

🌐 Upload Option
We have up a simple submission form where you can:

  • Upload photos or digital canvases (JPG, PNG, PDF).

  • Share a short story (200 words max) about your peace action.

  • Give permission for your content to be shared on our website/social media.

 

📱 Social Media Sharing

  • Post your Peace Flag activities on Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, or TikTok.

  • Tag @GlobalPeaceFlag and use the hashtag #GlobalPeaceFlag so we can amplify your voice.

 

📦 For Fabric Canvases (optional)
If you are contributing a physical fabric canvas:

  • Mail it to our collection center (address to be provided when you register).

  • We will stitch your canvas into the Global Peace Flag, or Peace Garments which will travel to exhibitions worldwide.

The Global Peace Flag is an Initiative of Fashioning for Social Environmental Justice, a public charity organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes and, as such, is not organized for the private gain of any person. Our EIN is #99-0599539. Our IRS determination letter is dated August 19, 2024, and states that donors can deduct contributions made to us under IRC Section 170 and that Fashioning for Social Environmental Justice is qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devices, transfers, or gifts under IRC Sections 2055,  2106, or 2522.
