About the event
Join World BEYOND War & Fashioning for Social Environmental Justice on Saturday, May 24 at 1:00pm for the display of the Global Peace Flag Project at The Ellipse in front of the White House.
The Global Peace Flag project brings together 193 countries in a powerful display of global unity and commitment to peace. This initiative has already seen success with its exhibit at the United Nations in New York, and now we’re taking it to the White House grounds during Memorial Day weekend.
We'll also have music, spoken word poetry, and speeches from notable anti-war voices, including World BEYOND War’s own Executive Director David Swanson; fashion designer Runa Ray, founder of Fashioning for Social Environmental Justice; Medea Benjamin, Co-Founder of CODEPINK; Steven Rogers, Executive Director of African Justice faith Network and Marjan Naderi, former D.C. Youth Poet Laureate (2020).
